Very Cherry

Cherry trees don't wait for permission. They are always the first — blooming before anyone else has decided spring is real, before the other trees have made up their minds. This branch caught my eye because of that tension: the white blooms already open and confident, the pink buds still holding back, deciding.

I have been photographing flowers long enough to know that the moment just before full bloom is often the most interesting moment. This is one of my original images — made early in my life with a camera, kept because it still stops me.

When I sold my home, I hung this print in the living room as part of the staging. It helped sell the house.
