I was in Los Angeles for the Magnolia Society International meeting in the spring of 2024 when I found this moment. The light was hitting the petals at exactly the right angle to reveal what most people never see — the translucency inside a magnolia bloom, the way light moves through the petal itself rather than simply reflecting off it. It stopped me completely.

This is one of only 50 editions in the world, across all sizes combined. When they're gone, they're gone permanently.

State Park Images at Atlanta Airport

Flowers tell stories
