Romantic Magnolia in Pinks

The Huntington Library and Botanical Garden in Los Angeles is one of the great garden destinations in America — 120 acres of botanical collections that stop you in your tracks every few feet. I was there in the spring of 2024 with the Magnolia Society International when I found this tree. Several blooms had opened so close together that their petals merged and flowed into each other, creating something that looked less like a photograph and more like a painting. I stood there a long time before I raised the camera.

This is the pink colorway — warm, soft, and romantic in the truest sense of the word. A companion piece lives in peach. I have this one framed in my own home.
