I looked up and this is what I saw — a canopy of tulip magnolias against a turquoise sky, the colors so vivid they seemed to be dreaming themselves into existence. I have always been drawn to the view from below a magnolia in full bloom. This one stopped me completely.

I enhanced the color slightly in Photoshop — not to change what was there, but to finish what the light had already started. The magenta and turquoise together are exactly what I saw in my mind when I pressed the shutter. Now they match.

This is one of my personal favorites. I have always had it hanging in my own home. That should tell you something.

Trained at the Southeastern School of photography, Bodner learned on slide film, printing in the darkroom and currently works with a Nikon Z7 and Photoshop.

State Park Images at Atlanta Airport

Landscape work by Bodner from three Georgia State Parks are on display at the Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport. Be sure to look for them as you return from an international trip. They are right before arriving at the luggage carousel.

Flowers tell stories

It's amazing how so much detail shows up each Spring with such little work on our part. The display of color delights, but doesn't last long. It's my goal to catch the beauty each season.
