I was walking in my old neighborhood when I saw it — a magnolia tree so fully in bloom it had practically taken over the corner. The stop sign beside it seemed less like traffic control and more like instructions. I stopped. I always stop.

This is the whole tree — arms wide, blooms everywhere, unashamed about taking up space. Most of my magnolia work is intimate, close in, studying a single bloom. This one asked to be seen differently. So I let it.
